More firsts...this time the swing!

Last night Mommy and Auntie Jenny took me to the park near my house for the first time and plunked me in the baby swing. I wasn't complaining. It was kind of fun! I was pretty content, just taking in and enjoying this new experience. It was pretty cold outside so we didn't stay long. Hopefully I will get to go back soon!

Rub-a-dub-dub...

...Eli in the tub! So now that Mommy and Daddy bought me some bath toys, I love to play on my tummy in the tub and splash the water with my hands. I also try to pick up the bright toys that are floating nearby by sometimes they are too slippery. If I can grab them, they go right into my mouth and I slurp the water off! Of course, Mommy just had to get some pictures of me. I am sure I will love these pics when I am older!

Veggies...open wide!

So I have ventured into the world of veggies and I am quite impressed! My first taste was of sweet potato and I really seemed to like it. It was a nice change from the cereal I had been eating up until now.

Next up were the peas, which I tried for the very first time today. The first few bites were interesting and my face showed it. Mommy always laughs at me. It was so different then anything I had tasted so far. But, again, not bad! I kind of like this solid food eating thing!

I think I am destined to be a big eater. After Mommy or Daddy would feed me a spoonful of food, my mouth would automatically open wide again for another spoonful. They couldn't get the food into me fast enough it seems!

My 6 Month Old Self

Well, okay. I tried really hard not to cry but man those needles hurt. I cried. I cried hard! But I was back to myself in no time. I weighed in at 17 lbs 14 oz and measured at 27 1/4 inches. I have been following a nice curve in height and weight gain since birth. And today showed my height is still following the curve quite nicely. I did not gain as much as I did height this time round though. The nurse said it is totally normal to not gain as much weight now as it slowly starts to taper off. So, for my height I am between the 75 to 90th percentile and for my weight I am between the 50 to 75th percentile. I guess my nickname of chunk isn't really appropriate anymore then huh? I got a nice dose of tylenol and have been sleeping for 2 1/2 hrs now, with a quick feed in between as I was starving!

Soooooo Big!

I wasn't going to post until after my 6 month checkup and vaccinations tomorrow but Grandma Jarina is getting impatient for updates! So this is for you Grandma!

Well, the days of being horizontal are slowing coming to an end as I absolutely love to stand up "big and tall" on my own two feet while holding onto adult hands! If I am laying down and Mommy or Daddy pulls my arms into a sit, I skip right past the sit and go right into a stand. There is so much more to see from this new point of view! My legs are getting stronger and stronger everyday, as they should be. After all, I don't exactly have chicken legs.

Also, I can now sit up in the front seat of a shopping cart without too much wobbling. I hold onto the bar and can support myself quite well. I still get a little tipsy sometimes still when I lose my concentration and forget that I have to hold on though. Thank goodness Mommy and Daddy are fast! This will make grocery shopping much easier now....or will it? Hmmm....Mommy and Daddy will soon find out I guess. Oh, and in the picture I was staring at the ceiling fan which I thought was quite interesting. Auntie Jenny couldn't get me to look at the camera.

And lastly, I have now moved onto barley cereal after eating the rice cereal for four days with no reaction. Yay! Soon I will actually get to eat some good food (like the yummy blueberries Mommy bought for me). Mommy says I have to be a trooper though and get through this cereal phase. Boring! I am hanging in there and gulping it down though.

Wish me luck tomorrow. I get three more needles. I will try to be strong for Mommy this time and not cry, but it is hard you know.

Spiderbaby!

I just wanted to show off my favorite pajamas. I got these pajamas from my cousin Ashley at my baby shower. They are size 12 months so Mommy and Daddy did not think they would fit me as, well, I am not even 6 months yet. But they should know better by now! So here is me in my Spiderbaby pajamas! If you notice I am also "sitting" by myself. I can't quite get my balance yet so I lean on my hands, kind of like a gorilla.

Also, a little update on the solid foods department. Up until this point I have not been too interested in the solid food. Mommy would kind of force it in my mouth and I would often spit it out. Well, today I thought I would give it another shot. And boy did I ever! I ate the whole bowl (about 3 tbs). I would open my mouth nice and wide for Mommy. And it was not that bad! So, I think I have officially entered the world of solid foods.

My First Christmas...

...was great! It started out with a road trip from Calgary to Drumheller on Thursday to pick up my Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Hume. From Drumheller we headed right to Sparwood. Daddy and Berkley didn't come on this trip as Daddy had to work so they came to Sparwood on Friday with Auntie Jenny.

I got so much stuff for Christmas! I got a tickle me Elmo which I am fascinated with. I got lots of clothes, sleepers, books, a little Leap pad computer system, some bath toys, a leap pad fride farm toy, leap pad books, a fisher price bouncing zebra...and the list goes on. It took Mommy a while to go through all the toys once we were home and figure out how they all worked. Mommy and Daddy say we now need a bigger house with my own play room! While in Sparwood I enjoyed visiting with family and friends and my first swim in the Sparwood pool. It was so much fun!

Thank you everyone for all the great gifts, play time, cuddles and love. It was a great Christmas!
