Bronchitis

Yep, I have bronchitis and I am not a happy camper. Mommy and Daddy noticed me coughing on Monday March 26 and then the runny nose started. It seemed to get worse on Tuesday so Mommy took me to the doctor's to have me checked out. She was worried as we were supposed to fly to Regina on Wednesday with Auntie Jennifer and cousins Ashley and Jordan. The doctor said I have bronchitis and maybe an ear infection and put me on antibiotics. Mommy decided it would be best to not go to Regina. She didn't want to expose me to my cousins and thought some much needed rest at home would be best. Mommy and I were really looking forward to going to Regina. Mommy promised we could do it another time though.

I have been coughing quite a bit which in turn makes me really angry and often I start to cry. It is no fun being sick! Last night was a rough night. I usually sleep best propped up on some pillows in Mommy and Daddy's bed so last night I slept with Mommy in her bed and Daddy slept in the spare room but I was pretty restless and my coughing kept waking me up. We had a humidifier in the room and it didn't really seem to help. So no one really got much sleep last night. I seem to be the worst in the morning and the evening/night time. I hope I am better soon. I feel just miserable and am such an unhappy boy! Mommy took some pictures of me in my time of misery, which Daddy did not like. Thanks for sticking up for me Daddy.

Please send healthy vibes my way : )

8 Months Old!

8 months old...and so many new experiences! First things first, I now weigh a whopping 20 lbs. Okay, it is not that big. I am only up 1/2 a pound since last month but I am still growing. I am also about 28 inches long. I say about because Mommy has a hard time measuring me as I am so wiggly. So we will just go with that. My diet has expanded to include things such as yogurt, cottage cheese, egg yolks, toast, crackers, cheerios and fruit pieces. I have even tried ice cream, although it is not a daily staple unfortunately. I also like to drink water out of my sippy cup now but I especially like to drink it out of Mommy's glass. Mmmm....

So on March 12, I turned 8 months old. Two days later, I started crawling! I had been getting up on my hands and knees and rocking back and forth for some time. Then one day, I just started to move! Mommy witnessed this huge milestone. She was so excited...and so was I. Finally, freedom! Well, almost. One of the first things I did was I crawled up to the t.v. stand and started banging on the glass. Mommy thinks I had my eye on it for quite some time as I seemed to know right where I was going. Ever since that day, I haven't looked back. I love to venture into the kitchen now and play with my magnetic toy farm on the fridge or just scoot along the linoleum. I also love to crawl underneath my jumperoo, play with the vents and look out the patio door. By the end of the days my knees are often red and I have experienced my first rug burn on the top of my little toes. Check me out. I'm I not the best crawler you have ever seen?

Two days after I started crawling I got my first tooth! It is my front right tooth. It has not come in all the way yet but Mommy and Daddy say they can see and feel the tip of it poking through my gums. I was not a happy camper the night it came in but it is not really bothering me anymore. If you look closely in the picture, you can see it!

And, the day after I got my first tooth, I was able to go from my belly into a sit. Of course Mommy and Daddy did not actually see me do this. Mommy had put me on my belly and then she let Berkley outside. When she turned around, a mere seconds later, I was sitting on my bum smiling at her! Hee hee...I am pretty tricky! She has not seen me do it since.

Since I have now mastered the crawl, why not try and pull myself up onto things? I can get onto my knees while pulling myself up onto the t.v. stand (my favourite!), my crib railing while inside the crib, the computer tower, the glass patio door, closet doors...just about anything. But that is as far as I can go at the moment; up on my knees. I am so close to actually standing! I will have to keep practising I guess.

Well, that is all for now. Thanks for sharing with me all of my new and exciting experiences!

Hugs and kisses,

Eli
