Hello, it's Eli's Mommy. I just thought I would update a bit on my little man and the cute/smart/funny things he says. He keeps Chris and I entertained, and always melts my heart.
The other day Eli and I were watching Max and Ruby and Ruby on tv. Ruby, a girl rabbit put on a blue dress with a white pearl necklace. I said to Eli, "Ooooh, Ruby looks beautiful!" and Eli said to me, "Just like you Mommy!" Awwww...I love that little guy!
We have been having a tough time with Eli and his sleeping lately. He is a night owl like his Dad and likes to sleep in. Well, the other day Chris could not wake him up for Gymnastics class on Saturday. Chris called me at work for some assistance. Poor Eli was sobbing on the phone to me and when asked if he wanted to stay home today, he said yes in that whiny, cute, pathetic voice. It broke my heart. So I called a couple of hours later to check no Eli and asked him on the phone, "Why didn't you want to go to gymnastics today?" And he said to me, "Because I wanted to cuddle you." Ugh, that killed me! I wanted to walk out of work that day and spend the rest of the day cuddling my little monkey on the couch.
That same night, Chris, Eli and I are downstairs. Eli is eating a snack. He takes a drink of his milk and says, "Mmmm, Eli likes this. It makes me stronger." So he IS listening to me when I tell him this stuff!
We were also playing with the nerf football throwing it back and forth and when Chris would throw the ball to me, Eli would say "Good job Daddy!" Then I had made a comment after I threw the ball how I couldn't get the ball to spiral. Eli said "Yes you can Mommy, you can do it". We are always encouraging him when he feels he can't do something, and now he was doing the same. I didn't realize how well he was listening to us when we talked to him.
Eli's vocabulary is amazing. He no longer sounds like a baby when he talks. He often uses full sentences and the things that come out of his mouth just amaze us!
Stay tuned for more updates.
