Happy Birthday Big Boy!
I also got to go on a road trip with Grandma, Grandpa, Mommy, Daddy, Auntie Jenny, Uncle Jason and Keira to Silverwood there park in Idaho. We went there last year and we had so much fun we decided to go back. We spent some time in the water park where I went down the water slides all by myself. Then we went on some rides. Mommy and Auntie Jenny couldn’t go on any rides because they both have babies in their tummies. Poor Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa. I think they were getting sick of the rides! I won a Luigi doll and a snake all by myself. In one game I had to throw a dart and pop a balloon and I did it on the first try. Mommy was relieved because she was preparing for a meltdown if I did not pop it.
I also got to spend some time camping in Eureka at Grandma and Grandpa’s trailer. Keira was there too so I had someone to play with. Keira is so funny. She makes me laugh and I like to copy her. I had a really good summer!
So yes, back to this baby thing. Mommy informs me she has another baby growing in her belly. I am pretty excited about that. I told Mommy if it is a girl we should name her Keira and if it is a boy we should name the baby Avery! (after my cousins of course). Mommy said we can’t use those names because they already belong to my cousins. Mommy rented a fetal Doppler where she puts this wand on her belly and we can hear the baby’s heart beating. The first time I heard it I couldn’t stop smiling. I think I am going to be a great big brother and can’t wait to teach my new brother or sister so many things. I get to go with Mommy and Daddy to their next ultrasound where we will hopefully see if it is a boy baby or a girl baby. I can’t wait!
Since I am growing up (I am four after all) Mommy said it was time for me to go to preschool. Mommy and Daddy talked with me about it all summer to prepare me for it. I would often get sad and cry when they told me they would be dropping me off at school and leaving me there. But when the big day came, Mommy dropped me off, gave me a hug and I ran right into the classroom without even looking back. Mommy was so proud of me and Daddy was surprised I did that! I wore my new Toy Story back pack and hung up my coat and back pack no the hook all by myself. My teacher’s name is Mrs. Newman. On the very first day we made a craft; it is an apple magnet that goes on the fridge. My preschool’s name is Appletree preschool so that is why we made an apple. The teacher helped me with gluing the googly eyes on the apple, but I drew the smile all by myself. I will go to preschool every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There are twenty kids in my class. How am I going to remember all of their names? After my first day Mommy asked me what I did at school and I said “I dunno.” Ha ha…I am so silly! It was a busy day so she can’t expect me to remember everything! I still go to Julie’s house (my dayhome) when I am not in preschool and Mommy and Daddy are working. I have lots of friends there and have lots of fun at Julie’s. Today is my second day of preschool and Daddy gets to take me today. I am excited about that!
Today when Mommy woke up for work it was snowing outside and it is only September! I hope my winter boots and coat still fit me from last year! Brrrr….
That’s all for now!

More funny stuff...
He also started a sentence with "Mommy, when you were in my tummy...." and dropped the line "When Daddy used to change your diapers..." I think he is a little confused about our family dynamic!

What a kid...
Oh really? You poor thing!
He cracks me up when he starts a sentence with "When I was little..."

Kids say the darndest things!
1. While lying in bed one night Eli says to me:
Eli: I think I will keep you.
Me: Awww, thanks Bubs.
Eli: You’re welcome. I just love you so much.
2. While in the car sitting in his car seat:
Eli: Can I take a nap in my car seat?
Me: You wanna take a nap?
Eli: Yes, because I keep yawning all the time.
3. Eli: Mommy do you have any money?
Me: Yes, I have some money honey.
Eli: Oh, just wait a “mimute”. I need to get my piggy bank.
Me: Okay.
Eli: Do you have enough for the Wii game?
He is obsessed with Nintendo Wii for some reason and wants one really bad!
4. Berkley is outside barking to come in. Eli says “Jesus dog! You can’t bark like that all the time!”
5. On a walk with Berkley one day Eli says to me “Poo stinks!”
6. While laying in bed with Chris and I one night, Eli says “Hey, I need a little more room here.”
7. While laying in bed with Chris one night, Eli points to Chris’ bare chest and says “That’s funny. You got a little grass on there.”
8. There is a book I read to Eli that talks about how much I love him. An example of the book is “I love you like a mouse loves blueberry pancakes”. We often play this game in bed right before going to sleep. Last night I started the game and Eli says “I love Daddy like he likes vacuuming” and then proceeds to repeat the phrase with “I love Daddy like he likes Pepsi” and finally “I love Daddy like he likes Smarties.” Eli sure knows his Dad! Chris and I burst into laughter. Chris really does love Pepsi, Smarties and well, he vacuums quite a bit as Berkley is always bringing grass into the house.
Thanks for reading

Sad news...
Wendy
Long Overdue...
So, I apologize for the lack of entries in this blog. I have no excuses! Well, I can think of a million, but you won’t believe them. Oh and if you are wondering why Eli isn’t updating the blog today, it is because he is “busy” playing Super Mario on MY Nintendo DS. Chris and him seemed to have taken it over. That is his newest love! What happened to my Barney watching, diaper wearing little guy? He is growing up!
So, I guess I have to do some backtracking. First, Christmas! We spent Christmas in Sparwood this year. It was Keira’s first Christmas and everyone was there for it so it was fun! It is always fun to have little kiddies around. And one thing a Jarina Christmas does not lack is presents, way too many presents! If you think I am lying, here is the proof:
Mountain of presents
Cousins; Keira, Eli and Avery
Chris spent New Years in Kalispell, MT, Eli spent New Years with Auntie Jenny, Uncle Jason and Keira in Sparwood, and I spent New Years alone (don’t feel sorry for me…it was great!) as I worked dayshift on the 31st and night shift on the 1st. I ordered Chinese food and watched a movie. It was nice.
In February we were off to the Dominican for Jen and Jason’s wedding. It was fun being on vacation together with the whole family. Even Auntie Lynn and Carissa surprised us at the resort all the way from Ontario! They seem to do that a lot. The resort was beautiful, the water was green and we had great weather. Jen and Jason has a beautiful ceremony. What a perfect backdrop for the wedding; the Caribbean Sea! Eli wasn’t a fan of the ocean. He spent most of his day in the pool. He surprised us with his swimming ability! What a little fish he is, going under water for seconds at a time and kicking his feet. He seemed pretty proud of himself. We had a great vacation. I would love to make it a yearly thing, but maybe shooting for every second year would be more realistic.
The Bride and Groom
Eli
A few days before our vacation I discovered I am pregnant! After almost 2 ½ years of trying and enduring fertility treatments, we had finally put ourselves on the waiting list in January 2010 for IVF (invitro fertilization). You always hear stories about people adopting and then becoming pregnant. Well, I guess getting on a waiting list for a super expensive procedure will do that too! So we are excited to finally give Eli a sibling. I was starting to worry Eli was going to be an only child, a spoiled rotten only child! Eli seems to understand that there is a baby in my tummy but right now is not really showing any emotion either way towards it. He just knows it is there. Boy is he in for a big surprise! Poor Berkley is slowly moving down the totem pole in this house.
Eli started unparented swimming lessons a couple of weeks ago and so far has had two classes. The have both been disasters! The first class saw him whine and cry every time the teacher talked to him! He did not participate, except for a few minutes where the teacher threw out rings in the water and he ran and got them. It looks like we will have to sign him up for the same level again as there is no way he is going to pass the class. He is just not confident without Chris and I in the water with him. I was so mad at him the first day after his behaviour! The second class was worse! He bawled for thirty minutes straight! I just left him standing in ankle deep water wearing his life jacket and shivering like crazy. I didn’t want to coddle him. I was mad! He needed to participate in his swim lessons and if he didn’t, he was going to stand there for the whole class and watch! Tomorrow Chris takes him as I am working. He is going to try staying out of view. Lets hope tomorrow sees improvement!
That is all for now. Nothing new to report with Eli. I weighed him yesterday and he is still 32 lbs, which he has been at for I swear two years! His 27 lb one year old cousin Avery is quickly catching up to him! Eli has lost all his chub and his quite the skinny kid “with no bum” as Grandma says. He always proves Grandma wrong when she says this by turning around and whipping down his pants, bum stuck out in the air. We try to feed this kid but he is so picky! Thank goodness for Children’s vitamins! Apparently he eats like king at daycare! The other day he had a chicken alfredo dish. He only eats pasta at home with a cheese sauce with nothing else in it. So at least I know he is eating well at daycare. Oh well, what can you do? At least I won’t have to buy a new car seat for a while as at this rate, he is going to be in his current car seat for a few more years as it goes to 40 lbs. Eli is getting funnier and funnier every day! He always has Chris and I laughing! I have to start writing down some of the funny things he says. I don’t ever want to forget this age.
Love Eli (as written by his Mommy)

My other two boys...
And just for fun, here is a pic of Eli and his friends at his Halloween party this past weekend. From left to right, Rayah and Norah (sisters), Ashlyn and Kaitlyn (sisters), Drea and Hunter (brother and sister) and Eli. Too much candy was eaten, but a fun time was had by all.

A back seat driver and a little white lie.
Eli (from his car seat in the back): "You have to keep looking at the road."
Me: "What do you mean? I am watching the road."
Eli: "No Mommy, you need to stay in the white lines. Don't cross over them."
I hope he is as diligent with the rules when he starts to drive!
This evening while getting Eli into the bathtub he says to me, "When I get out of the bathtub, Daddy said I can play games on the computer." I said "He did?" Eli said "Yep, he said that." So I go downstairs to confirm with Chris this information. Nope! Chris did not tell Eli that! I am going to have to be on the ball with this kid!
Goodnight!

Stuff this kid says....
While browsing Superstore toy aisle and after having a meltdown because he wanted a certain toy and me telling him why he couldn't, Eli says to me, "We are just here to look, not buy right Mommy?"
After just finishing his lunch and before playing games on the computer Eli says to me "I need you to wipe my hands. I can't touch the mouse with dirty fingers or else Daddy will get very upset." (Why yes, Chris would get very upset!)
Eli upon climbing into his carseat notices the tiniest spec of dirt on his one little finger and starts bawling. This kid is JUST LIKE HIS DAD! He does not like to be dirty one bit. It is amazing the things he pics up on from his Dad.
Lately Eli has gotten into the habit of telling, not asking me, to pic up his toys (because, just like his Dad, he hates to see things out of place etc. And I always reply with a "they are your toys that you were playing with so you need to pick them up" or "I will help you pick them up." The other day Eli yet again told me to pick up his toys and immediately followed it with "Ssshhhh...don't say anything Mommy." In other words, he didn't want to hear my same reply again. He is a smart kid!
That's all for now,
Wendy

It has been way too long...
Eli went to the dentist a while ago for his first real checkup. He has been there before in the past when I had an appointment and the dentist had a brief look at his teeth. He also had to go as an emergency patient when he fell out of the SUV onto his face, but there is no need to talk about that again. He did very well at his first appointment. I was so proud of him! He wore his little glasses to keep water etc out of his eyes. They did the cleaning and even gave him fluoride. He held the little suction wand in his hand and closed his mouth on it whenever he needed a suction. What a star! He had no cavities and everything looked good. The doctor did recommend him having sealants put on his teeth as he has deep grooves in his teeth (as do many kids) and this would help lessen the amount of cavities he will get as it can be hard to clean such deep grooves.
Here is a pic of his pearly whites.
Look Ma...no cavities!
Eli also went for his 3 year check up and he is doing well. He is 32 lbs and 37 inches or 3 ft 1 inch. So he is right on track with the average three year old, which is 33 lbs and 33 inches. So he is slightly skinnier and a bit taller then average. I spoke to the doctor about him being sick all of the time. He always seems to have a cold, or something other chest infection. Just three weeks prior, we had to take him to urgent care as he had a high fever and was just miserable. The doctor said his tonsils were huge, yet they weren't infected. But our family doc said that is normal for small children to have large tonsils and he was not concerned. So we will just have to keep our fingers crossed he stays healthy for a while!
Eli is getting funnier and more outgoing everyday. He often follows his antics with the phrase, "I am sooooo funny!" which is hilarious because Chris and I often do the same thing with each other. So now we have another "comedian" competing for the laughs. He seems to love playing with his friends and easily makes new friends wherever we go. Yesterday I took him to Let's Play and it near the end there was just Eli and three little girls there. He chased them around and copied everything they did and was always yelling at them to "come over here!" so they would follow him. It was so cute listening to their conversations. He was sad when he had to leave his friends.
One of his new fave shows seems to be Caillou. It is about the everyday antics of a little boy about his age, so maybe that is why it is appealing. He loves to sing the theme song and although he does not know all the words, he sings through the whole thing.
Check out my future Canadian Idol:

A big milestone has been reached in the Kirby household. Eli is potty trained! He has been trained for a couple of months now. It is so nice not to have to worry about diapers anymore, although now you have to be fast and able to drop everything when he "has to go potty!" It makes outings interesting. But he lets us know when he needs to go, which is great. And when we are at home, he just goes on his own. I know this because the odd time I will see the evidence in the toilet. Then I have to hunt him down and make sure he is clean so to speak. When he was consistently going on the potty by himself during the day, we also noticed that his pull ups at night were dry every morning. So we took the leap and removed the pull ups at night as well. Of course, without fail he pees the bed, but he has only had about three accidents at night so for the time being, we are putting on pull ups at night, at least until we finish the bag we have. And this kid likes his sleep! So he is staying dry for a good 12 hrs through the night. One thing he has been doing, and I have no idea where he got this from. But when he poops in the potty, he has a habit of going into our bedroom, bending over in half and peering through his legs in front of the mirror in our room to check if anything has been left behind. So strange! But I can't complain. He is potty trained. Whew!
The Wiggles...yay!
We finally took Eli to see the Wiggles on Tuesday. He had been so excited leading up to the Wiggles, he had advertisements for the concert from the Calgary Sun taped to our wall in the living room. It was such a good show! We had floor seats and a pretty good view. Eli was pretty excited and would do the moves along with the Wiggles. And is it sad that Chris and I knew all the words as well? Money well spent I think! It is worth it just to see his face and how happy he is.

Fifths Disease and more...oh my!
The fifths disease, otherwise known as “slapped cheek” disease was noticed when a rash on his cheeks appeared. Google has been a godsend to the Kirby family in making diagnoses. And after a trip to the doctor’s office, fifths disease was confirmed.
Link
The thing with this disease is by the time you notice he has it with the rash appearing, he is no longer contagious. His symptoms appeared about two weeks earlier when we kept him home from daycare for two days because he had a terrible cough and runny nose with congestion. At the time we just thought it was another cold. This time it wasn’t. A few days after the rash appeared, his whole body was covered! My poor little man. It didn’t seem to bother him much, until about a week of having the rash. It slowly made its way down his body and just when it appeared the rash was gone except for the tops of his feet, he became itchy, very itchy. He would cry in discomfort and we would slather him in calamine lotion (could they make that stuff any runnier?) and it seemed to help only 50% of the time. He would wake up crying in the night. He kept saying “It still itches” after putting the lotion on. I felt so helpless! But that is behind us now, thank goodness. A few days after finally being rid of the rash and itch, he came down with another cold (at least that is what I think it was).
So, this Friday I made an appointment with his doctor to discuss his history and determine why he is getting sick so much. I am sure nothing will come out of it though. It probably doesn’t help that he is such picky eater and never eats vegetables etc though he does get vitamins and omega supplements. Who knows? Chris and I have had to take quite a bit of time off of work as well to stay home with him when he is sick. Whenever he comes down with something, we look at each other and wonder “Whose turn this time?” Thankfully Chris’ employer gives him 5 days a year with pay to use when a child is sick. My work? I get to use my holiday time. Nice! So it looks like Chris will be using one of those days tomorrow.
Eli will be back in a few days once he is feeling a bit better.

Happy 3rd Birthday to ME!
So most people celebrate their birthday on one day, their actual birthday. Not me. I had TWO birthday parties; one with my friends and family in Calgary and one with my friends and family in B.C. I sure am lucky.
The first party was the week before my birthday at Southland Leisure Centre in the Kinderroom. It has a big play structure in it. I had so much fun with my friends. At my party were my cousins Ashley and Jordan and my Auntie Jennifer, my friend Graysen and her Mommy Jen, my friend Owen and his Mommy who live right next door to me, my dayhome provider Julie, her husband Allan and her son, Dylan, Norah and her Mommy Amy and baby sister Rayah and Ashlyn and her Mommy Sara. Oh, and of course Mommy and Daddy were there too.
The Invitation

The highlight of they day was my birthday cake which looked like a lion! I had been carrying around this magazine from Grandma that had a picture of the cake in it and every few days I would ask Mommy if it was time to make the lion cake yet. When she did finally make it I was so excited! And I was even more excited when my friends started arriving for my party to show of my cake. It tasted as good as it looked too. Yum!

I got kind of shy when everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. I don't like all of that attention!
Happy Birthday to you

I had a really great day and got so many great presents. I got some Spiderman cars, a race track set, bubbles, clothes and lots of other great toys too.
Thanks everyone for making my 3rd birthday the best one yet!
Here are some more pics from my big day.

So spoiled
And last but not least, my birthday present from Mommy and Daddy
Now onto birthday party #2. Just like last year for my second birthday, I went to B.C. for my third birthday. We went camping at Loon Lake with Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa, Auntie Jenny, Uncle Jason, baby Keira, Auntie Michelle, Uncle Darryl and baby Avery and Clinton, Larissa and my friend Leland. I love camping (sorry Daddy) and especially love sleeping in Grandma's trailer.
While we were there we went bowling in the States, swimming, boating and roasted marshmellows on the fire. I had so much fun playing with Leland. He makes me laugh. I'll admit we did fight sometimes, but that is because we are both stubborn three year olds! Grandma even watched all the grandkids and Leland while Mommy went shopping. She had her hands full.
Again I got spoiled and this time I had Spiderman cupcakes. I just love Spiderman! I also got a Spiderman costume, towel, more cars and a Spiderman electric toothbrush. I can't wait to go camping again soon.

Summa Time!
The summer kicked off with a trip to Siverwood theme park in Idaho. Grandma, Grandpa, Mommy, Auntie Jenn and baby Keira and I packed into the minivan and off we went. It was a great day full of rides and water parks. My favorites included floating down the lazy river on a tube and taking a ride in the wild roller coaster! I wanted to go again and again. The trip was such a success we are thinking about doing next year. Hopefully more people can join us.
Piloting a plane
Because I didn't get enought rides at Silverwood, Mommy and Daddy took me to Calaway Park. I wanted to play a game and win a prize so Mommy and Daddy let me play this game where you have to throw two balls into the same color of cup. There were about 75 different cups of various colors. I threw the first one and it landed in a green cup. Mommy at this point was thinking to herself how she was going to handle the temper tantrum she thought I would have after unsuccessfully landing the second ball in a green cup as well. To Mommy's surprise (and relief!) I did it! I won a Bob the Builder stuffed toy I really wanted. I got to play the game one more time before we left the park and just to prove it wasn't luck, I won again!
Now that would have been the highlight of the day if it hadn't been for a special guest at the park that day; Spiderman!!! I was nervous to meet him at first but when it was my turn shook my hand and posed for a picture with my Daddy and I. I was so excited! I will treasure this picture forever (or until I am 4 and another Superhero catches my eye).
My two heros; Daddy and Spiderman
It would be summer without a trip to the water park. We had gone to the park and noticed the water park beside it was on for the season. I wanted to go in so we drove home, got my swimsuit on, and went back to the park. Only this time, I DIDN'T want to go in because I didn't want to get my "swim shirt" wet. Hey at least I looked cute right?
Dry but stylin'

I also spent sime time in B.C. at Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Jenny's house as Mommy and Daddy went to Vegas and didn't want to take me. Go figure. Grandma says I did pretty good, although I did get homesick. Grandma says I went outside to sit on the front steps. She asked me what i was doing and I told her I was waiting for Mommy to come home. She said I wouldn't be coming home just yet and he said he could wait. When Mommy heard she and Daddy drove through the night to get to Sparwood and bring him home a day early. I was so happy to see them!
Of course what is summer without spending time with some of my good friends! Mommy took me back to Calaway Park where we met my friend Norah and her Mommy Amy and my friend Drea and her Mommy Della and Drea's brother Hunter. We went on lots of rides! My favorite one was a big person ride that I got to go on with Mommy. I loved it! I am so over the kiddie rides!
Cruisin' with Norah
Next up...my birthday! But that deserves its very own post.
Talk to you all soon,
Eli xo

Busy, busy, busy...
I had so much fun playing with my cousins! I don't get to see them very often so when we get together, we make sure we have lots of fun! We played outside a lot jumping on the trampoline and flying kites. We even had a camp fire at night and roasted marshmellows. I also did lots of puzzles with Grandma. She says I am such a good helper. We also celebrated Janelle-y-belly's 1st birthday while we where there and ate yummy cake!

I am doing very well in the potty training department. Mommy no longer puts diapers on me during the day. We have gone out for a few hours without diapers as well as a trip to Lethbridge without wearing a diaper in the car. I have had accidents though but Mommy says that will happen. I had a big accident on Daddy's computer chair, but we cleaned it up before he got home! I am running out of time because Mommy says once I turn three, she is no longer buying pull-ups. I am cut off! Wish me luck!
A couple of days ago I went to Lethbridge with Mommy to see my Auntie Michelle, Uncle Darryl, cousin Avery, Auntie Jenny and cousin Keira. I loved playing with all of Avery's cool toys. I did have an accident on Auntie Michelle's rug, but I figure they are going to have to get used to it as I am sure Mr. Avery is not going to be perfect either. Hee hee. Ooops. Sorry about that! It was good to see them again as I haven't seen them in a while. Avery and Keira are getting so big!
The Three Muskateers:

Tonight we went and saw the new Pixar movie UP! It was so funny! I laughed a lot. I kept getting folded up in my chair though as I am not quite heavy enough to keep it down.
Here are some pictures of me taken today at the water park/park. We started at the water park but I didn't like the fact that my Nemo shirt got wet so we went to the park instead. I know, I can be dramatic sometimes!
Before I got wet:

Nice and dry at the park:

Well, it is past my bedtime. Have a great weekend everyone!

A special visitor
Mommy says I have to work on my sharing though. I didn't like to share certain toys with Jordan too much and was actually mean to him at times, hiding HIS blankie and making him cry! So I did spent some time in timeout, but that didn't put a damper on things, as least not for me.
Here are some pics of my cousin and I:

Next time Mommy says I get to sleep at Jordan's house. Yay!
Today I got a super cool haircut. It is the shortest I have ever had it cut. It looks just like Daddy's. The hairdresser even put some gel in my hair to make it spiky. Here is the new me:

Me and My Daddy
So last Sunday, while Mommy was working, Daddy decided to treat me to the game. They played the Lightning. We sat in the third level, not Daddy’s first choice, but I don’t think he wanted to spend too much money on a ticket for me when he didn’t know how I would do. Right off the bat Daddy realized there would be a problem, because me being the spoiled little guy I am, Daddy had to carry me from the car to the Saddledome, and then all the way up the three levels to our seats all the while carrying food and beverages. Daddy of course wanted to keep me happy so he didn’t argue with me.
The game was cool. I was a little concerned stuffed teddy bears would be falling on my head as the last time I attended the Saddledome for a Hitmen hockey game, that is exactly what happened. Daddy assured me it would not happen this time. We were in a crazy, hyper section full of kids who attended the game with their hockey teams. Again, not Daddy’s first choice, but I loved it! I think they kids were there to help me because when they clapped and cheered, so did I. I loved watching them. I also got a few compliments on my Iggy jersey. Daddy was wearing a jersey too. I wonder why he didn’t get any compliments? Now if you asked me who won the game, I wouldn’t be able to tell you because I was doing a lot of people watching that night…and puppy watching! Yes, the highlight of my night? I got a high five from Harvey the Hound! He came and sat on a couple of seats away from me. I got the biggest grin on my face and turned to Daddy with my mouth open in awe. I felt pretty special that night and kept watching Harvey the Hound. Again, another reason Daddy didn’t want to spend big bucks on better seats for us, he wasn’t sure how much of the game I would actually watch!
Near the end of the second period I told Daddy I wanted to go home. So what does Daddy do? He brings me into the Flames Fanattic store and buys me a big red foam finger. Smart Daddy. He just bought himself a third period! It kept me entertained throughout the last period and I was happy. He also kept me busy with snacks. It was a good thing he brought me lots from home otherwise it would have cost him a fortune!
I had fun with my Daddy at the Flames game wearing our matching jerseys.
Flames are #1! (okay, well, not in this game...)

Go Flames Go

Daddy and I

The other day while eating dinner, Mommy asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. Without hesitation, I said “Like Daddy.” That sure made Daddy smile. Mommy says if I drink my milk I will be big and strong like Daddy too. I like that. It is what keeps me drinking.
Daddy is the best story reader. Daddy has figured out the reason why I want HIM to read me my bedtime stories all the time is because he reads way more stories then Mommy. I think this is because I have him wrapped around my little finger whereas Mommy keeps pushing this “routine” thing. That is okay though because I KNOW my Daddy loves to read me stories. My favourite one right now is a Diego book we borrowed from the library one day. I can’t wait to go back there to find some others.
Mommy has even noticed as well that when she is trying to discipline me, make me do something I don’t want to do (like change my diaper. Ugh! I hate doing that!) etc, I will get all pouty and ask for Daddy. But Daddy has assured Mommy that I do that when it is just me and Daddy as well. So I am trying to see what I can get away with, with who…nothing like starting early right?
Thanks Daddy for being the best Daddy ever!
Speaking of routines, Mommy and Daddy have started me on one to help get me to sleep earlier. Instead of them letting me sleep until I woke up on my own, they are now waking me up at 8:30 am, even if we don’t have to be anywhere! What a crazy concept. I also get stuck in quiet time for an hour a day after lunch. I don’t always like it but realized that hey, being in my room for an hour is really not that bad. There is so much to do in there! It is working as I going to bed earlier but more importantly falling asleep earlier as well. I guess Mommy’s and Daddy’s do know best right?
The potty training is going alright. Sometimes I just don’t want to go on the potty and want to be left alone. But on the days when we are home and Mommy and Daddy leave my diaper off (I love having a bare “bummers”!) I will go pee and poop on the potty all by myself, throughout the day, whenever I need to. So that is a good thing right? Mommy says she refuses to by me diapers once I turn three. Yikes! I better get my act in gear then. They can’t expect me to just throw away the diapers overnight. I have been wearing them for over 2 ½ years now. I need time to get used to the idea of big boy underwear. Hopefully next time I will have better news in this department.
That’s all for now.
Lots of Love,
Eli Christopher Kirby
