So this summer was an exciting time for me. I turned four! I had a super fun party with lots of family and friends. Grandpa and Grandpa Jarina were there along with Auntie Jenny and baby Beera (Keira!). Cousins Jordan and Ashley were there with their Mom; my other Auntie Jen. And my friends Ashlynn, Norah, Owen also came. I had a Toy Story party with an awesome cake Mommy made. My favorite part was the blue icing (my fave color). We played games outside until it started to rain. Then we played inside. It was so much fun. I got lots of cool presents.
I also got to go on a road trip with Grandma, Grandpa, Mommy, Daddy, Auntie Jenny, Uncle Jason and Keira to Silverwood there park in Idaho. We went there last year and we had so much fun we decided to go back. We spent some time in the water park where I went down the water slides all by myself. Then we went on some rides. Mommy and Auntie Jenny couldn’t go on any rides because they both have babies in their tummies. Poor Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa. I think they were getting sick of the rides! I won a Luigi doll and a snake all by myself. In one game I had to throw a dart and pop a balloon and I did it on the first try. Mommy was relieved because she was preparing for a meltdown if I did not pop it.
I also got to spend some time camping in Eureka at Grandma and Grandpa’s trailer. Keira was there too so I had someone to play with. Keira is so funny. She makes me laugh and I like to copy her. I had a really good summer!
So yes, back to this baby thing. Mommy informs me she has another baby growing in her belly. I am pretty excited about that. I told Mommy if it is a girl we should name her Keira and if it is a boy we should name the baby Avery! (after my cousins of course). Mommy said we can’t use those names because they already belong to my cousins. Mommy rented a fetal Doppler where she puts this wand on her belly and we can hear the baby’s heart beating. The first time I heard it I couldn’t stop smiling. I think I am going to be a great big brother and can’t wait to teach my new brother or sister so many things. I get to go with Mommy and Daddy to their next ultrasound where we will hopefully see if it is a boy baby or a girl baby. I can’t wait!
Since I am growing up (I am four after all) Mommy said it was time for me to go to preschool. Mommy and Daddy talked with me about it all summer to prepare me for it. I would often get sad and cry when they told me they would be dropping me off at school and leaving me there. But when the big day came, Mommy dropped me off, gave me a hug and I ran right into the classroom without even looking back. Mommy was so proud of me and Daddy was surprised I did that! I wore my new Toy Story back pack and hung up my coat and back pack no the hook all by myself. My teacher’s name is Mrs. Newman. On the very first day we made a craft; it is an apple magnet that goes on the fridge. My preschool’s name is Appletree preschool so that is why we made an apple. The teacher helped me with gluing the googly eyes on the apple, but I drew the smile all by myself. I will go to preschool every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There are twenty kids in my class. How am I going to remember all of their names? After my first day Mommy asked me what I did at school and I said “I dunno.” Ha ha…I am so silly! It was a busy day so she can’t expect me to remember everything! I still go to Julie’s house (my dayhome) when I am not in preschool and Mommy and Daddy are working. I have lots of friends there and have lots of fun at Julie’s. Today is my second day of preschool and Daddy gets to take me today. I am excited about that!
Today when Mommy woke up for work it was snowing outside and it is only September! I hope my winter boots and coat still fit me from last year! Brrrr….
That’s all for now!

More funny stuff...
Eli said to me the other day "You don't always have to tell the truth. That's what Daddy says."
He also started a sentence with "Mommy, when you were in my tummy...." and dropped the line "When Daddy used to change your diapers..." I think he is a little confused about our family dynamic!

Kids say the darndest things!
Eli makes us laugh every day!
1. While lying in bed one night Eli says to me:
Eli: I think I will keep you.
Me: Awww, thanks Bubs.
Eli: You’re welcome. I just love you so much.
2. While in the car sitting in his car seat:
Eli: Can I take a nap in my car seat?
Me: You wanna take a nap?
Eli: Yes, because I keep yawning all the time.
3. Eli: Mommy do you have any money?
Me: Yes, I have some money honey.
Eli: Oh, just wait a “mimute”. I need to get my piggy bank.
Me: Okay.
Eli: Do you have enough for the Wii game?
He is obsessed with Nintendo Wii for some reason and wants one really bad!
4. Berkley is outside barking to come in. Eli says “Jesus dog! You can’t bark like that all the time!”
5. On a walk with Berkley one day Eli says to me “Poo stinks!”
6. While laying in bed with Chris and I one night, Eli says “Hey, I need a little more room here.”
7. While laying in bed with Chris one night, Eli points to Chris’ bare chest and says “That’s funny. You got a little grass on there.”
8. There is a book I read to Eli that talks about how much I love him. An example of the book is “I love you like a mouse loves blueberry pancakes”. We often play this game in bed right before going to sleep. Last night I started the game and Eli says “I love Daddy like he likes vacuuming” and then proceeds to repeat the phrase with “I love Daddy like he likes Pepsi” and finally “I love Daddy like he likes Smarties.” Eli sure knows his Dad! Chris and I burst into laughter. Chris really does love Pepsi, Smarties and well, he vacuums quite a bit as Berkley is always bringing grass into the house.

Sad news...
As reported earlier, Eli is NOT going to be a big brother just yet. Unfortunately at almost 12 weeks I suffered a miscarriage. It was the most traumatic, horrifying, painful experience of my life. Something I will never forget and will never get over. We haven't really talked to Eli about it yet. I did tell him there wasn't a baby in my tummy anymore when he asked why I was so sad. He said "Yes there is!" with a little giggle. And we left it at that for now.
